Welcome to our Luthier Documentary blog! I'll keep the first post brief. When I first met Amnon in the course of producing a micro documentary on the Violins of Hope, Amnon's work, and the metaphors of his collection, I was taken. I was smitten like a 13 year old boy and his first crush. He was Gepetto in his shop. He was a philosopher. He was a comedian. He was an absolute master at his craft. More than anything, I knew instantly he deserved to be captured on film.
Filming Amnon working in his shop as he worked to restore yet another in a continuous line of Holocaust violins will always be one of the great honors of my life. May his memory be preserved in the work that he has left behind.
Hopefully, our little documentary can share a little of that magic I felt that day with the world.
